Answers

Admissions Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from prospective students, families, and transfer applicants.

Is Oakridge College test-optional for the 2026-2027 admissions cycle?

Yes. Oakridge is permanently test-optional for all undergraduate majors. Applicants may choose whether to submit SAT or ACT scores. Not submitting standardized test scores will not negatively impact your admission decision or merit scholarship evaluation in any way.

How do you evaluate international transcripts and English proficiency?

We accept certified credential evaluations from WES, ECE, or official English translations directly from your secondary school. Non-native English speakers can demonstrate proficiency via TOEFL (minimum 90 iBT), IELTS (minimum 7.0), or Duolingo English Test (minimum 125).

Can I transfer credits from community colleges or other 4-year institutions?

Yes. Up to 64 semester credits from accredited collegiate institutions are eligible for transfer. Our registrar provides preliminary credit audits within two weeks of receiving your official collegiate transcripts.

What is the difference between Early Decision and Early Action?

Early Decision (ED) is a binding agreement: if admitted, you commit to enroll and withdraw all other college applications. Early Action (EA) is non-binding: you receive an early admission decision in January but have until May 1 to make your final commitment.
